Lucille

The once-fiery, fierce Lucille is stuck in a serious funk. With no sleep and constant rain for six hundred and forty-two days, life is becoming a mundane routine. On a particularly sleepless and rainy night, peculiar things begin to happen in Lucille’s apartment that will change the way she sees her world forever.

CREATIVE WRITING / ILLUSTRATING / PRODUCTION

Background:

Lucille was the ultimate passion project. Ever since I can remember,  I have longed to illustrate a book. Instead of waiting any longer for the opportunity to do so, I wrote my own story and illustrated it.

CONCEPT:

A humorous, whimsical story about getting out of a funk and learning to create happiness in dark times. The story is written for ages 12 and up.

“I really think I write about everyday life. I don't think I'm quite as odd as others say I am. Life is intrinsically, well, boring and dangerous at the same time. At any given moment the floor may open up. Of course, it almost never does; that's what makes it so boring.”
